How to Turn a Lapbook into a Scrap-Lapbook
Paper Options
- Buy paper from a scrapbook store (terribly expensive and you can’t reuse,
but if you have it on hand, use it). - Print out patterned paper from your computer from a digital scrapbook kit
(reusable, print as many as you need). - Digitally scrap paper on your computer and print. Four sheets will cover the
whole folder but it looks like you used 10 or more and you save on ink. - A combination of 2 and 3 above as I did below.
Step by Step
1. Gather Supplies
- File Folder
- Scrapbook Paper
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Paper trimmer (optional but very helpful)
I used both 8.5 x 11 sheets of patterned
digital paper from the Bumble
Bee Picnic Digital Scrapbook Kit and a few pages I digitally scrapped. (I’m
experimenting 🙂 )
2. Cut Strips and Shapes
Trim the white edges off and papers printed
from the computer. Cut papers into various shapes. You can tear shapes too
.
3. Play with a Layout
Move around shapes until you find a eye-catching
design.
4. Glue
Glue shapes in place overhanging off the sides of the lapbook.
You could use spray adhesive instead.
5. Trim
Turn the file folder over and trim excess paper off cutting
around the tabs.
