Rules we need to express

1. Use kind words
2. Listen when someone else is talking
3. Obey directions the first time
4. Raise your hand if you would like to talk
5. Use an indoor voice

Positive Consequences

1. Learn about God
2. Please God
3. Know you have done a good Job
4. Get a Hooray letter sent home
5. Have surprise celebrations

Negative Consequences

1. Receive a verbal warning
2. Attend a teacher-student conference
3. Time-out from group
4. Contact parents
5. Sign a contract for appropriate behavior made with the teacher, student, and parent.

Other suggestions

Always:

1. Reward attempts at positive behavior
2. Remain calm
3. Deal with problem behavior one-on-one
4. Be flexible
5. Let child begin again with a clean slate

Never:

1. Blame them or shame them
2. Get involved in a shouting contest
3. Hold grudges
4. Create a confrontation
5. Dont yell at a child in front of his peers
